Career Week 2016 opened

Prof. Riyadh Yousif Hamza, Secretary-General of the Higher Education Council (HEC) opened in the exhibition hall in the Engineering Building at Bahrain Training Institute (BTI), the "Career Week 2016 Exhibition", with the participation of 15 governmental and private institutions and in the presence of BTI Director-General, Dr. Fawzi Abdulrahman Al Jowder.

HEC Secretary-General affirmed that carrying on organizing this fair on an annual basis stands as a proof for its success in attaining desired goals, mainly regarding briefing graduates on good employment opportunities available in the private sector institutions at the kingdom. He praised the exhibition, saying that it not only showcases job vacancies, but also provides several quality and specialised training alternatives in the participating foundations, contributing thus in honing graduates skills and making it easier for them to get a job.

On his part, BTI Director-General pointed out that the fair would attract 3rd Grade students of secondary schools and introduce them to the urgent local labour market needs in order to help them opt for university specialties that fit the requirements of government and private enterprises. He also extended his thanks to all the institutions who are taking part in the exhibition this year, inviting researchers and those seeking employment and training opportunities to visit the fair which will be open until 3 March from 9 in the morning to 2 in the afternoon.

It is worth mentioning that this year, the participating foundations and companies are: Gulf Petrochemical Industries Company (GPIC), Bahrain Petroleum Company (BAPCO), "Tamkeen" Labour Fund, Bahrain National Gas Company (BANAGAS), Mondelēz Company, Y K Almoayyed & Sons Company, Gulf Aluminium Rolling Mill Company (GARMCO), Al-Samer Printing Press, Arab Shipbuilding and Repair Yard (ASRY), Lulu Group International, Sofitel Hotel, Bahrain Society for Training and Development (BSTD), Electricity and Water Authority (EWA), the Ministry of Education, in addition to Graduates Employment Centre as well as Registration Office, Guidance and Counselling Division and Institutions Training Department at BTI.
